Description:
The FAIMER Institute is a two-year fellowship program designed for international
health professions educators who have the potential to play a key role in improving
health professions education at their institution. The program is designed to teach
education methods, management, and leadership skills, as well as to develop strong
professional bonds with other health professions educators around the world. Each year,
16 international health professions educators are selected as FAIMER Institute Fellows.
The fellowship program includes two residential sessions that take place one year apart in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in the United States, and two 11-month distance learning
sessions, one following the first residential session and one following the second
residential session. During the residential sessions, Fellows engage in highly interactive
activities that address basic education and scholarship as well as promote the
development of leadership and management skills.
